The Center for Information and Promotion of the Image of a New Africa was established in 2013 in accordance with Article 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code and is an organisation bringing together a number of individuals and associations active in all areas aimed at promoting Africa.
The CIPINA Centre enables Swiss public authorities (Confederation, cantons and communes), African and international authorities to understand the issues surrounding the African presence in Switzerland and to participate in various ways in the dialogue between them and Africans living in Switzerland.
By providing information, organising cultural, sporting and artistic events, conferences and debates on Africa and organising forums on the economic partnership between Africa and the countries of the North, the International Centre for Information and Cultural Exchange aims to raise public awareness of the reality of developing countries in general and Africa in particular, and to encourage dialogue and coexistence between Swiss and Africans and among Africans themselves.
CIPINA’s experience and know-how will contribute to:
Mr. Tidiane Diouwara, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CIPINA
The expertise of CIPINA, which will be available to African and Swiss authorities and decision-makers in Africa and Switzerland, will allow them to benefit from first-class advice and information to facilitate contacts and exchanges between them. In this way, CIPINA will facilitate various Swiss-African partnerships in the cultural, social, sporting and commercial fields. Thanks to its effective communication and very dense network of partners, CIPINA will also make it easier for Swiss and African public authorities to make choices and decisions by relieving them of the expert work necessary for good cooperation.
The CIPINA association, with special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) , is a think and do tank , for integration, development and cooperation whose purpose is to promote a positive image of African populations or those of African origin established in Switzerland and the rest of the world. To do this, CIPINA works primarily for cohabitation between peoples and fights against all forms of stigmatization and intolerance, particularly against African populations or those of African origin. The ultimate goal of CIPINA is to participate in conflict resolution and promote peace, in a sustainable manner, between Africans and the rest of the world, and between Africans themselves.
